Delicacy is a mobile meal-planning concept for people who want to eat well but do not want to spend every day deciding from scratch. It connects dietary preferences, daily meals, upcoming plans, recipes, and nutrition in one flow. The interface is intended to be practical and encouraging: the next choice is clear, while details remain available when someone wants to compare options or adjust a plan.

02 / CONTEXT

The difficult part starts before cooking

The difficult part starts before cooking

The difficult part starts before cooking

A person may need to choose a meal, check whether it fits dietary goals or restrictions, compare preparation time and nutrition, and remember what is already planned. Those decisions can be tiring when time is limited. The UX challenge was to reduce that friction without turning guidance into a rigid prescription. A helpful meal planner needs to support quick decisions and exploration in the same experience.

03 / DESIGN PRIORITIES

Make the next meal easier to decide

Make the next meal easier to decide

The product direction centers on three recurring moments: deciding what to eat today, reviewing upcoming meals, and discovering recipes. The interface should surface the dish, preparation time, and essential nutrition early, then reveal ingredients and macros in detail only when they help the choice. Personal preferences should guide suggestions while remaining visible and editable.

Design a connected planning loop

Design a connected planning loop

I organized the journey from setting dietary preferences to choosing a recipe, reviewing its ingredients and nutrition, scheduling it for a specific day and meal type, and confirming the decision. Daily and weekly views support different levels of commitment. Search and category filters help people compare options, while confirmation states keep the planned meal unambiguous. This structure allows a quick choice without hiding the deeper information behind it.

Meal cards use food photography and a repeated information pattern so dishes are easy to scan. Preparation time and key nutrition support an initial decision; recipe pages show ingredients, calories, protein, carbohydrates, and fats when the user wants to evaluate more closely. The scheduling flow lets a person choose day and meal type, review the selection, and confirm it with feedback. Preferences shape recommendations but can be changed as routines evolve.

Shaping the mobile journey end to end

Shaping the mobile journey end to end

As UX Designer, I worked on the information architecture, core planning journeys, interaction patterns, and high-fidelity mobile interface. The design emphasis was on making nutrition relevant at the moment of choice rather than separating it into an analytics screen. The work shown is a concept and prototype direction; the source material does not establish a measured reduction in decision time or a shipped product outcome.

The final design direction connects preference setting, discovery, recipe detail, scheduling, and a confirmed plan. A consistent card system helps meals scan quickly, while progressive disclosure makes nutrition understandable without overwhelming the first decision. The deliverable is an end-to-end concept that feels supportive and practical, not a quantified behavior-change claim.

A meal planner becomes more useful when it asks for only the information needed to improve the next choice. Preferences should explain why a suggestion appears, not lock someone into a fixed routine. This project reinforced the value of guidance that can be edited as goals, appetite, and schedules change.
